Reno Coin Club
The Reno Coin is a non-profit organization founded in 1984 to promote numismatics in the Reno-Sparks area and throughout Nevada. Members meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30 P.M. at Carrows Restaurant, 605 North Wells Avenue, Reno.
Reno Coin Club annual dues are $15.00 for adults, and $5.00 for junior members under the age of 18. In addition, there is a one-time fee of $5.00 for a membership badge. The dues help finance club activities throughout the year. The club has an annual awards dinner, and ice-cream social that is free to all members. We are an active member of the American Numismatic Association. We participate six or more times a year with a dollar exchange at the Nevada State Museum, distributing the new dollars and other coins with Ken Hopple running coin press #1 at the former mint, making various commemorative medals.
The goal of the Reno Coin Club is to provide it's members with a safe environment in which they can enjoy sharing our hobby with other like-minded enthusiasts. We also stress education and related opportunities so our members can take advantage to enjoy numismatics to fullest extant possible. We encourage everyone every month to bring coins to share with other members and to take advantage of what the club has to offer.
The club publishes it's newsletter, The Reno Cartwheel, on a monthly basis and is mailed or e-mailed to all members in good standing and special friends and sister coin clubs. It is also posted monthly on www.renocoinclub.org, the club's website. The Reno Cartwheel has won three national awards from the American Numismatic Association. Members may submit articles, photos, poems or anything else for publication. We are actively encouraging people to send or blog memoried of LaVere Redfield.
