Inland Empire Coin Club

Post  IECC on Sat Oct 08, 2011 2:25 pm

The Inland Empire Coin Club is “the” active coin club in the greater Spokane, Washington region. The Inland Empire Coin Club was founded in 1953 in Spokane,  Washington. We held our first meetings in the Spokane County courthouse in Spokane.

We now hold meetings every month on the first Monday of the month except September when it is on the second Monday because of Labor Day.  We also have a picnic in July in a city park and a banquet in  January.  The banquet is an installation banquet for the newly elected officers. The elections are held every December and the officers serve for a calendar year beginning in January.  At the picnic, we play bingo games and give away over $200 in coin prizes.

MEMBERSHIP:
We invite anyone who collects coins to become a member.  Our dues have been reduced to $10 per year for an individual or $15 for a family starting in 2011.

MEETINGS and MEETING PLACE:
Our meetings begin at 7:00 PM and are usually over by 9:00 PM. We have a business meeting and then hold drawings for prizes and also have an occasional coin auction.
We give away over $80.00 in coin prizes at each meeting just for being a member.  Our coin raffle is open to anyone and tickets are 5 for $1.00. There is no maximum.
Anyone may bring a coin lot valued a $50 which the membership votes on.  The lot with the most votes is chosen  for the raffle and it is purchased from that person.
Our current  meeting place is:
Village Community Building (Behind Riverview Retirement Center)
2117 E. North Cresent Ave.
Spokane, WA

This is located behind Riverview Retirement Center on Upriver Drive.
Off Upriver Drive from the west, turn left on Granite go one block and turn right, or from the east turn right on Stone go one block and turn left.  From Granite it is abut 6 blocks on the North side of the street.  From Stone it is 1 block.

COIN SHOWS
We also hold two Coin Shows each year.  They are currently held at the Center Place in the City of Spokane Valley.  They are usually held in the spring and fall.  If you are a dealer, we welcome you to participate by purchasing a table.  Our members do all the preperations for the shows. We usually sell 40 or more tables and have about 25 dealers from Washington, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and some even farther away.
This is a new location for our show. You will find it to be larger, better lighting, more parking and easier to get to.  To get there take the Evergreen exit from I 90. Go North to the end of Evergreen.  Turn left and go to the next traffic light. Turn right and take the first left then the next right and go about 2 blocks to the Center Place parking lot.  Center Place is across the street from the YMCA.

Admission to the show is $2.00 for both days.  We sell tickets for a drawing for a gold coin and 5 U.S. silver eagle coins.  Ther gold coin is worth over $350.  These tickets can be purchased from any member for $1.00 each.  They can be purchased in advance or at the show. Admission to the show also gives you a chance to win an hourly door prize with your admission ticket.  These are drawn every hour for both days that the show is operating.  You  must be present to win the hourly drawing but not for the gold coin.
